Combined Phone & Answering Machines

Even in the age of the web and the phone, a cordless telephone and ansaphone can still be extremely useful.  An office provided with a cordless telephone and answering machine has the benefit that you can take the telephone with you, but it always remains near to hand since it can’t be used without the remainder of the contraption.  Aditionally, it can take messages which is way more convenient than voicemail when you are found in a central office almost all of the time and can tend to your messages by pushing a button.  And if you lose the telephone mouthpiece, you can press the pager button on the cordless phone and answering machine and the phone will keep beeping until you’ll be able to find it, which is a great advantage.

You can get a cordless telephone and answerphone in different sizes and configurations appropriate for small, medium, or perhaps for huge offices.  The cordless telephone and ansaphone should have the ability to accommodate multiple lines at the same time, have call holding, call forwarding, and other such features.  That way, all of the required features of your phoneline can be managed from that one cordless phone and answering machine unit, instead of needing some other device.

Personally, though, I am not that large keen on a cordless phone and ansaphone for the simple reason that I’m always loosing something.  It’s enough difficulty for me to keep track of my mobile phone, and the only real way I manage to do that at all is to always keep it with my messenger bag, which means that I have to always keep that messenger bag with me.  But when you employ a cordless phone and answering machine, you have the bent ( at least I do ) to use it so that you can wander around and have a tendency to other work while you are talking on the phone.  This means that you can leave your cordless phone anywhere in another office, in the copy room, on a coworkers desk.  The chance to foil this system are manifold.  For me, the old standby, the telephone with the rope attached to the clunky machine that hasn’t modified much for over 20 years, is still the best answer.  It works nicely, and it implies that you cannot go far with the telephone and that irrespective of where you wonder, it is still firmly attached to where it is meant to be.

Sadly, or some would say thankfully, it isn’t possible to download the latest pop music or TV theme tune as your personalised ringtone, that has to be left to the mobile phone users. You can read about leading mobile phone ringtones on the Best Ringtone web site.
